October 6th, 2020: Public Statement Regarding Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment

To members of the Jackson Community:

Regardless of where you stand on the current issues of sexual assault and sexual harassment and how they are impacting our community, I highly encourage you to watch the delivery of my public statement to the Teton County Board of Commissioners.

Please remember that it is easier to write words and deliver them digitally in this current social climate, but actually reading those words aloud, especially words that illicit traumatic memories, in front of others requires courage and strength that some may never possess.

To members of the media contacting me for quotes related to other issues surrounding the mayor, I cannot comment on those situations that do not involve me. I only wanted to bring awareness to a situation that was and still is impacting my health in multiple ways. My public statement is on record and available to be released in its entirety to the media, and those are the words that I would like the community to witness.

Remember: “Courage is not the absence of fear; it is moving forward in the presence of fear. Courageous people do what they believe in their hearts they should do, no matter how they feel or what kinds of doubts and fearful thoughts fill their minds.”

October 6th, 2020 Regular Mtg - Teton County, WY

I deliver my public statement in the “Public Comment” section of this meeting.
